OMCA’s summer season means the gardens are open for picnics, gallery hours are expanded until 10 pm, and the Off the Grid food truck market goes up to twenty trucks on 10th and Oak streets! Come celebrate the beginning of warmer weather and also preview RESPECT: Hip-Hop Style & Wisdom on March 23. As part of Friday Nights @ OMCA, every first and third Fridays of the month during the summer, get down at Block Parties featuring performances in celebration of legendary Hip-Hop street jams.

OMCA Family Gold Panning
Discover what life was like during the California Gold Rush days. Try your hand at panning for real gold, forty-niner style, in the Museum gardens. Learn how to tell the difference between real gold and fool’s gold, and keep all you find!
No reservations required. All ages welcome. $5 per participant with the exception of Sunday, May 6.

Docent Tours of J.B. Blunk: Nature, Art & Everyday Life
During these guided tours, discover how California craftsman J.B. Blunk brought together art and nature to create his artwork. Hear stories about the utopian and counter-cultural roots of an influential artist whose back-to-the-land approach is echoed in today’s maker and craft communities.
